MATTHEW HOPKINS BIOGRAPHY
Born Penrith, Australia 1978
Matthew Hopkins was born in Penrith in 1978. He completed an MSA at Sydney College of the Arts in 2007.
Matthew works with a diverse range of mediums producing gallery based installations, self published books and texts, sound and popular music.
Across these diverse mediums his work remains distinctly weird, and is often unified by the absurd, the surreal and a sense of humour about humanity and the confused internal (ill)logics we use to rationalize our personal and collective existential crises.
