NEAR TAPES
2007 to present
Matthew Hopkins runs the cassette label Near Tapes. The label began in 2007 and has released cassettes by artists working on the edges of psychedelia, punk, folk, industrial and electronic based music.
Each release is limited to somewhere between 50 – 100 cassettes, with Hopkins illustrating most of the cover art. The labels focus is to document live sets, rehearsals, collages and other forms of recordings along these lines.
